Canadian CPAs seeking international designations
Learn about the eligibility of Canadian CPAs applying for membership with an international accounting body under a mutual recognition, reciprocal membership or memoranda of understanding agreement.
CPA Canada has signed membership recognition agreements with international accounting bodies that allow Canadian CPAs to apply for membership in those bodies and permit their members to apply for the Canadian CPA designation.
On behalf of all Canadian provincial and regional CPA bodies, CPA Canada has signed Mutual Recognition Agreements (MRAs), Reciprocal Membership Agreements (RMAs) and Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with a number of international accounting organizations. These agreements are applicable to all Canadian CPAs in good standing, including those who completed their certification through a legacy (CA, CGA or CMA) qualification program.
If you are an internationally trained accountant, we will assess your academic and professional credentials quickly and fairly, and provide you with a clear pathway to your Canadian CPA designation.
