Modern Slavery Act report
Background
On January 1, 2024, the federal Fighting Against Forced Labour and Child Labour in Supply Chains Act came into force. The Act supports the fight against forced labour and child labour (“FLCL” or “modern slavery”) by imposing reporting obligations on organizations that either produce, sell, or distribute goods in Canada or elsewhere, or import into Canada goods produced outside of Canada.
To meet compliance requirements of the Act, CPA Canada reports on the previous financial year’s anti-modern slavery actions via:
- A Public Safety Canada questionnaire; and
- An annual report
Our Position
CPA Canada is committed to acting ethically and with integrity as an organization and in our relationships with our stakeholders and partners.
CPA Canada will not engage in nor support the use of forced labour and/or child labour nor will it tolerate the use of forced labour and/or child labour at any level in its supply chain. Accordingly, we implement and enforce effective processes and controls to prevent and reduce the risk of modern slavery in our organization and our supply chains. Grievances
Individuals may report any suspected modern slavery in CPA Canada’s supply chain through the ConfidenceLine or by calling the 24/7 phone line: 1-800-661-9675.
The process of filing grievances to the ConfidenceLine, should only be made related to Modern Slavery or the Fraud Policy. Complaints of a general nature should be sent to the appropriate CPA Canada department.
